Entire row sorts instead of selected range due to multi-user editing.
Cause:
The Excel workbook is saved with the 'Allow Multi-User Editing' option enabled.
Solution:
Disable the 'Allow Multi-User Editing' option and perform the sort.
CAUTION: Turning this option off will prevent other users currently accessing the file from saving their changes.
1) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Shared Lists...'.
2) Click 'Editing' tab.
3) Clear the 'Allow Multi-User Editing' check box.
4) Click 'OK'.
